Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the start of the project for the training of 20 knitters, announced in October 2019, has been delayed (see the link to our previous report).
Our partner association SEO – Society for each other from Kathmandu initiated this project and is now implementing it.
Obtaining the permission from the authorities delayed the start of the course, which forced an instructor to accept another job in the meantime. Now new skilled workers had to be found who could handle both conventional machines and automatic knitting machines. Recruiting two separate instructors turned out to be very difficult. Fortunately, the additional costs were compensated because the facilities for the course were provided by a Nepalese Service-club at free of charge.
ProNepal wishes the 20 women the perseverance to complete the course and thereby gain an opportunity to generate additional income for their families.
